This project proposes the study and assessment of the cultural landscape constructed between 1937 and 1984 as a result of the activities of the National Wheat Service in the province of Ávila. Its most visible aspect is the grain storage facilities built and operated as part of the National Network of Silos and Granaries project. The fundamental premise of the project is to understand that these are not isolated objects scattered throughout the province, but rather landmarks belonging to complex territorial systems that define entire landscapes. With this in mind, this research seeks to move beyond purely object-based interpretations of this heritage, understanding that neither the different scales nor the various elements that constitute it can be isolated. On the contrary, they must be interpreted as complex structures in which territory and culture are intertwined. Thus, the purpose of the project is to highlight a heritage of the province of Ávila with significant value and potential from a territorial, architectural, and sociocultural perspective.
