Marian Leboreiro holds a PhD in Architecture and is Professor at the Department of Urbanism and Territorial Planning. She is also graduated in Chemical Sciences. She has a Diploma in Technical Urbanism by the Spanish National Institute of Public Administration. She is chief-editor of the journal ‘Planur-e’, a digital publication specialized on urbanism and territorial planning.
Her scientific production is focused on urban and territorial planning, and throughout these last years of research, her work has been specially focused on suburban landscapes. It could also be highlighted her work on historic centers as well as Galicia’s urban landscape and heritage through studies such as ‘Atlas urbanístico de Vigo’ and books like ‘Baiona y su tiempo’ and ‘El balneario: la ciudad ensimismada’. Her articles have been published in different magazines as INDE, Urban, Ciudad y territorio, Revista Internacional de Sociología, Geometría or Cadernos do Noroeste.
She has combined her research work and teaching activity with her professional practice, having managed urban planning teams drafting urban plans for Vigo, Crecente, Mondeaño, Gondomar or Redondela. She has also managed projects on restoration of historic areas like Baiona, Collado Villalba or Zafra, and singular plans for historic areas like the ones in Bouzas, Redondela or Cangas de Morrazo.
