Violeta de Frutos

Violeta de Frutos Menéndez is an architect from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid and Predoctoral Fellow at the Department of Forestry and Environmental Engineering and Management at the Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería de Montes, Forestal y del Medio Natural of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, in the area of knowledge of Graphic Expression.

Currently, she is enrolled as a student in the Master’s Degree in Advanced Architectural Projects and is working on her doctoral thesis in the Doctoral Programme in Architecture and Urban Planning. Her research topics focus on the creation of fictional landscapes and their representation through architecture, imaginary cartographies and the narrative construction of territory.

As part of her training, she completed an Erasmus stay at the École Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris-Val de Seine (ENSAPVS), where she furthered her training in heritage, garden and landscape. Furthermore, she has carried out teaching collaborations in the Estudio Paisaje, an initiative of the Department of Architectural Projects (ETSAM) in collaboration with the Cultural Landscape Research Group, in the framework of the State Plan I+D+i project “HERITAGESCAPES: Critical cartography of the metropolitan cultural landscape. Future heritages”. Recently, her project Mom, I saw a cow at the grocery store! has been recognised with the Editorial Pick in the non-architecture Market 2.0 call.
