Rodrigo de la O
Rodrigo de la O is an architect and a postdoc researcher at the Department of History and Theory of Architecture. He holds a PhD in Architecture and a Master in Advanced Studies with specialization in research.
He developed his PhD thesis as a doctoral researcher at the Department of Architectural Design funded by the Moncloa International Campus’ Programme for the Attraction of Talent (PICATA). During 2014 he was Academic Guest at the Institute for the History and Theory of Architecture of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETHZ). In 2013 he was Independent Scholar at the Canadian Centre for Architecture (CCA) (Montreal). He has lectured at several institutions such as the Politecnico di Milano, the University of Valparaiso and the Spanish Institute for Cultural Heritage.
He was coordinator of the GIPC. He led the research ‘Cultural Landscapes of Energy’ within the Spanish National R&D&i Plan. This research was awarded by the XIII Spanish Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism (XIII BEAU). He was curator in 2013 of the homonym exhibition.
His last articles have been published in journals as Studies in the History of Gardens & Designed Landscapes, Cuaderno de Notas or Ábaco and collective books as ‘Landscape in Flux’ (EMÜ, 2015), ‘Specifics: Discussing Landscape Architecture’ (Jovis, 2013), ‘Public Space and Contemporary City’ (FAU, 2013), ‘Paisajes culturales, patrimonio industrial y desarrollo regional’ (CICEES, 2012) or ‘Ethics and Aesthetics of Architecture and the Environment’ (ISPA, 2012).
